The Poles (2022)
A4
€43.00
The linocut was created for the cover of the book by Mad Bartnicka. The protagonist of the novel is a man who lives on two "poles", never in the middle. Between two extremes. Between dark and light. "Sometimes it feels like there are two of us". He is an expressive personality, like a strong line of linocut emerging from under a chisel.
The book is not for sale here. Here I sell the linocut :).
Linocut is a handmade printmaking technique, where an artist carves a design into a linoleum block and prints it with ink onto paper, making each print truly one-of-a-kind.
The artwork is sold unframed and carefully packaged to ensure its safety. Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity and a description of the print, personally signed by the artist.
This is how I made Moon Boy
“Moon Boy” began as a printed stack of A4 pages gifted to me by Mad Bartnicka. I read the book in that raw, paper form, and from there the image slowly started to take shape. Sketches turned into digital work, digital lines into carved marks, and finally ink met paper. From first drawing to final print - it’s a quiet, beautiful kind of magic.
