Son Of Spring (2022)

Thistle is a beautiful, underrated weed. It is delicacy covered with thorns. Some people choose to see only spikes. The roots and plant try to get beyond the framework in which is inscribed. It is a description of the protagonist of the book for which I created this linocut - Sasha, son of spring (Vesna, name of his mother). The book written by Mad Bartnicka.

I don't sell a book here; I sell the linocut that is the illustration for the book.

Linocut is a handmade printmaking technique, where an artist carves a design into a linoleum block and prints it with ink onto paper, making each print truly one-of-a-kind.

The artwork is sold unframed and carefully packaged to ensure its safety. Each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity and a description of the print, personally signed by the artist.

This is how I made Moon Boy

“Moon Boy” began as a printed stack of A4 pages gifted to me by Mad Bartnicka. I read the book in that raw, paper form, and from there the image slowly started to take shape. Sketches turned into digital work, digital lines into carved marks, and finally ink met paper. From first drawing to final print - it’s a quiet, beautiful kind of magic.
